October News 2020
Welcome to our October Newsletter. I'm pretty sure most of us are feeling the same - tired and overwhelmed with what this year has
thrown our way (and we are in a much better place than so many others). It's time to take a breath and make the most of the rest of
2020. When I lost my father to cancer 5 years ago I saw him trying to negotiate with the inevitable to get on more month and then
even one more day before he had to go. It made me realise that everyday above ground is a good one and that despite the trials and
tribulations we should really "Carpe Diem (seize the day)" To that end I propose that we all need to do some goal setting
for the next few months leading into Christmas. We still have almost a quarter of year to get some good stuff done. Ladies - I
urge you all to not neglect your health checks this year including your mammogram if you in that age group. The earlier breast cancer
is detected the better the outcome. We have a great Spring Pilates pack offer this month as well to get you moving and feeling your
best as we get head to the beaches and back into our togs!
Stay well and enjoy October - Jules x
October is Breast Cancer awareness month. We all know and understand the importance of self examination and regular mamograms once you turn 50. Don't let the chaos and loss of structure this covid year stop you from paying attention and getting checked if you have any of the following symptoms:
- As lump that is new of changing
- discharge from a nipple
- dimpling of the skin on your breast
- change in size or shape of your breast
- redness, scaling or thickening of the nipple
Make sure you know how to do self examination - if you're not sure ask you doctor.

Mammographic screening
If you are aged 50-74, get your free breast screen done every two years. BreastScreen Australia offers free breast screening for women without symptoms aged 50-74, when screening has the greatest potential to prevent deaths from breast cancer. Women aged 40-49 and 75 years and older who have no breast cancer symptoms or signs are also eligible for free screening mammograms. For more details contact BreastScreen on 13 20 50 or visit www.cancerscreening.gov.au.
The Floor Situation
OOPS! Unfortunately due to the state of the underlying concrete floors in the clinic, the expected laying of our new floors has been
delayed. We are so sorry to have inconvenienced people - stay tuned for the new schedule as we are still waiting to find out what needs
to happen to get the install done.
Welcome to Mary our newest Physio

Glen is Back!
One of the best side effects of having the borders open to Northern NSW is that we now have Glen back in the studio. Full of beans and energy he is ready to pump out the rest of this year in the Pilates room.
