Julie is the founder of Revive. With 30 years experience in physiotherapy and sports injury management, she is passionate about creating a place and space where people can access the best care available in an environment that is welcoming and nurturing. Julie continues to work with clients ( she has a special interest in chronic and complex spinal problems and challenging sports injuries) and also manages and mentors her staff and develops the studio to continually improve the quality and variety of services available at Revive.
Julie is a true Queenslander - born and bred in the Sunshine State, the daughter of a bank manager, she spent much of her school life in rural areas including Maryborough, Surat, Mt Isa and Ingham. Julie moved toBrisbane from Ingham to start her Physiotherapy degree in 1980 where she lived on campus at Duschene College. Graduating from Physiotherapy in 1984, she worked for a short time at Princess Alexandra Hospital before heading back to Uni to work as a Specialist tutor in the Physiotherapy Department. She taught in the areas of Geriatrics, Neurology and Sports in her time working at the University. Julie then pursued her interest in Sports Physiotherapy and worked in a private clinic for four years before starting her own clinic.
Julie was the Physiotherapist to the Brisbane Blazers WNBL team for nine years and has extensive experience working with many sporting codes including rugby union, gymnastics, softball, squash and most recently beach volley ball. Julie currently is the physiotherapist for Natalie Cook and has travelled overseas with Natalie to Paris and Norway on the European tour leading up to the Beijing Olympics and then to China to help Natalie qualify for the London Olympics.
Outside of work, Julie is married to Ian and is a busy Mum to Sarah and Emma. To let off steam Julie loves snow skiing and golf. She has skiied Big White and Whistler in Canada, Cardrona in New Zealand , Thredbo and Perisher in Australia and most recently Northstar at Lake Tahoe. Golf is a weekly date with her girlfriends at either St Lucia or Ashgrove. Her other fun stuff includes cooking, photography, shopping and hanging out with her family.
