Welcome Prue - our new Women's Health Physio (West End)
Prue graduated from the University of Queensland in 2019 and has worked in both private and public sectors in Brisbane, Canberra and
London.
Prue enjoys treating both musculoskeletal injuries and pelvic health concerns. She has completed the Graduate Certificate in Pelvic Floor
Physiotherapy through the University of Melbourne, and uses this training to treat a range of pelvic floor concerns for both men and women.
Prue particularly enjoys helping women return to sport postpartum, treating female pelvic pain concerns, and pre and post prostatectomy
urinary incontinence in men
Prue is a solution focussed and caring physio who actively listens to client concerns and develops strategies with them to optimise
recovery.
Prue's second love after physiotherapy is Pilates, and she enjoys utilising her Pilates training alongside a hands-on approach to treatment
to get clients back to doing what they love.
Outside of work Prue enjoys being outdoors in sunny Brisbane, and can be found frequenting Brisbane's restaurant scene or relaxing at the
beach with her partner.
Welcome Claudia our newest Physiotherapist (West End)
ONCOLOGY PHYSIO
Claudia is moving to Brisbane from New Zealand (via a wonderful world exploring holdiay) this month and we are delighted to welcome her to our West End Team. Claudia is a Physiotherapist passionate about movement, wellbeing and encouraging others to live a full and active life. She is empathetic and understanding when communicating with people of all ages and cultures and practice integrity in all that she does.
With a strong background in general physiotherapy and Pilates, Claudia also has a special interest in Oncology Physiotherapy and will be picking up where Meg has left off at West End providing this specialised and much needed service for those with a cancer diagnosis - before, during and after surgery and treatment.
We are excited to be launching our first privately run BEAT-IT program for Diabetics this year. With your Doctors assistance with
referrals under medicare, a large part of this program is funded by medicare for type 2 diabetics. You can also use your health fund
to offset the balance of the costs making this 8 week program very affordable. Please express your interest with reception at West
End on 3064 3207. We plan to start the progam in Feb/March and will commence intiial assessments and intake in Jan and Feb !
(we will continue to run our DIABETES QLD FUNDED BEAT-IT programs at Ashgrove )
Our ongoing commitment to excellence in our clinical skills has continued in 2023
We have continued with our bi-weekly inservice sessions through out 2023 and have covered many topics and workshops including a session
with Bauerfiend Braces. Bauerfiend produce the knee brace used for the Cross Bracing protocol for the conservative management of ACL
tears. We are keen to become a clinic that can manage patients with this protocol in conjuction with Dr Cross the orthopaedic surgeon
who has developed the protocol. Please let us know if you would like more information on this approach please speak to one of our
physios. There is a small time window after ACL injury that allows for the use of this approach and immediate assessment and MRI
scans are necessary to not miss this window and to assess for suitability for this conservative approach.
Revive Team Christmas Celebrations
This year we celebrated our Christmas party at Eat Street (on a very soggy night in December). We then also backed this up with our
annual staff lunch and secret Santa.
Good times, great company and too much fun !
