activity.
Improve your running technique and elevate your performance
Many people rely on recreational running for both their physical and mental health and can be a large part of their consistent exercise routine. Poor running technique can be a contributing factor to injury, resulting in time off from training and interruption of your routine. For athletes or serious runners, poor technique can be what’s holding them back from performing injury free at their best.
Depending on your current situation and goals, the benefits of a running assessment vary between each individual. Some of the most common benefits people experience include:
- Improving your ability to run more efficiently for longer
- More sustainable movement patterns - learn to use and recruit your larger muscle groups
- Ease of running - it will feel easier, therefore allowing you to move better and for longer
- Observe and analyse your running style through video

FAQ's
1️⃣ What is running physiotherapy?
Running physiotherapy is a specialised form of physiotherapy focused on assessing, treating and preventing injuries related to running. Our Run-Fit assessments in Brisbane identify movement or load issues that may contribute to pain or performance limitations and develop a personalised recovery and training plan.
2️⃣ What happens in a running assessment?
A running assessment typically includes a full biomechanical analysis of your gait, strength and mobility testing, and video feedback. Based on this, your physio will identify inefficiencies or risk factors and prescribe targeted exercises and technique cues to optimise your running mechanics.
3️⃣ Do I need a referral for running physio?
No — you do not need a medical referral to book a running physiotherapy assessment. You can book directly with Revive Studio. However, for some rebate programs (e.g., Medicare EPC, Workers’ Compensation, NDIS), a referral may be required.
4️⃣ Can running physio help with injury recovery?
Absolutely. Running physio practitioners assess the root causes of your pain — such as hip weakness, foot mechanics, load errors or running technique — and design a plan to reduce pain, strengthen tissues and return you to running safely.
5️⃣ How long does a running assessment take?
A typical running physiotherapy assessment session lasts around 45–60 minutes. This gives your clinician enough time to analyse your movement, assess strength and mobility, and discuss a tailored plan based on your goals and injury history.
6️⃣ Will I get video feedback of my running gait?
Yes — our running assessments include video analysis so you can see your own movement pattern. This helps you understand technique cues and gives your physio precise data to guide improvements.
7️⃣ Can running physio improve my performance?
Yes. In addition to injury management, running physiotherapy and gait analysis can help improve efficiency, stride mechanics and load tolerance — which can reduce injury risk and improve running performance over time.
8️⃣ I’m a beginner runner — is running physio still useful?
Definitely. Whether you’re new to running or an experienced athlete, assessments and personalised programming can help you run pain-free, build resilience and train smarter from the beginning.
9️⃣ How many sessions will I need after my assessment?
It depends on your goals, injury history and training load, but many runners benefit from a targeted rehabilitation plan that includes regular follow-up sessions to monitor progress, refine technique and build strength. Your physio will recommend a schedule that fits your needs.
