Physiotherapy

Anouska is a specialist Sports and Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist who has been working in the profession for 15 years. Anouska graduated from the University of Wollongong in 1999 with a degree in Exercise Science then went on to complete her Physiotherapy degree at Griffith University in 2003. After graduation she moved to Rockhampton in North Queensland to experience the country lifestyle and began working in private practice. Her first real outback experience and Team Physiotherapist role upon graduating was for Phil Anderson's Australian Dream Team at the 2003 Crocodile Trophy in North Queensland.

During this time Anouska was also heavily involved in competition both on the track and road and raced with the QAS team at the Geelong World Cup in 2006. As a result Anouska began to work with the QAS junior development cycling squads, the national talent identification programs and the QLD state track team. She also introduced cycling specific services into the local clinic and began to provide bike fitting services.

A move to Brisbane to begin her Masters in Sports and Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy in 2007 coincided with an opportunity to ride on the front of a tandem bicycle with a blind athlete. This led to plenty of racing both on the velodrome and the road and eventually a job with the Australian Para-cycling Team.

Anouska attended two Paralympic Games with the Australian Cycling team before accepting a position with British Cycling in the lead up to the Rio Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2016. During this time Anouska worked across all programs (road, track, mtb, bmx) providing Physiotherapy, Retul Bike Fitting, Gebiomized Pressure Mapping, exercise rehabilitation and camp and competition cover. She was also involved in the saddle health project which involved pressure mapping of all athletes, stability programs and assisting in the development of customized cycling suits for all athletes with the goal of reducing training time lost to saddle sores.

Anouska has since returned to Australia (and the sun) and has relocated back to Brisbane.
