Yoga is a Sanskrit word which means union of body, mind and soul. It is a holistic concept that integrates the physical, mental, spiritual and emotional aspects of self.
It is an ancient Ayurvedic science that teaches a way of living to function successfully in life.
Along with focus on breathing and energy flow, yoga incorporates a series of rhythmically linked stretching poses called Asanas.
These Asanas, or poses are based on achieving a sense of balance and harmony within oneself, in the way we relate to others and with our environment.
These are various types of yoga that embody different philosophies within the concept of life balance and spiritual growth. Through improved quality of breath awareness, yoga calms the nervous system and can effectively eliminate stress and emotional tension.

Here at REVIVE we offer a unique blend of Hatha Yoga, which connects traditional stretching postures, breath awareness and meditation.
Our instructors use gentle, yet powerful movements, often described as a relaxed effort. Yoga seeks to stabilise and strengthen alignment in a comfortable manner. Props such as belts and bolsters, which we fully provide, can be used to assist stretching.
Hatha refers to the balance between the energies of the sun and moon.
It is aimed at achieving health through restoring equilibrium to the mind and body.
Yoga can teach the mind to release the body and the body to free the mind.
